Accessibility statement

We build technology for people with disabilities. Our own website has to meet the standard we ask of others.

Our commitment

AssistiV Ireland is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard only navigation or screen magnification, and people who prefer simpler reading.

Easy Read

An Easy Read version of this website explains AssistiV in short sentences with pictures. The Easy Read button is at the top of every page.

The standard we aim for

This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This includes:

  • One main heading per page and a logical heading order
  • A skip link to the main content, available on the first press of the Tab key
  • Visible focus indicators on every link, button and form field
  • Text and background colours that meet or exceed a contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1
  • Touch and click targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels
  • Layouts that work on phones, tablets, laptops and large screens, and reflow at 320 pixels wide
  • Respect for the reduced motion setting on your device: animations are switched off
  • Moving logos that pause when you hover, focus or tap on them
  • Form fields with visible labels
  • Content that works with JavaScript switched off
  • Video that only loads when you choose to play it [confirm captions are switched on in Vimeo]

Known limitations

Some articles we link to on other websites may not meet the same standard, and some sit behind a paywall. [Add anything else known not to meet the standard.]
